A calmer brain, a better desk, books worth keeping.
I’m not a productivity guru. I’m someone who got overwhelmed by too many tools, too many books half-read, and a desk I didn’t want to sit at. Still Set is what I found when I stopped chasing systems and started noticing what actually worked.
No credentials. Just a lot of trial and error.
About Still Set
This is a publication run by someone who spent years in digital marketing, burnt out, and rebuilt their work life around three things: smarter tools, better books, and a calmer home.
No credentials. Just a lot of trial and error — and a habit of writing down what actually worked.
The Stack
Three things I’m using right now — one for thinking, one for reading, one for the space I work in. No fluff. Just what’s earning its place in my setup at the moment. I swap these out when something genuinely changes, not on a schedule.
My most-used tool right now, and the one I’d miss most. I reach for it less for writing than for thinking — I hand it a tangle of half-formed thoughts and get back something I can actually act on. I don’t earn anything if you try it. I’m naming it because it’s the truth of what I use.
Still reading this one, slowly. It’s not another time-management book handing you tricks to cram more into a day — it goes underneath that, and asks why we’re trying to in the first place. It’s already changed how I think about a full schedule. (More on how I’m reading it in the slow-reader piece.)
Honestly, the real change here was a decision, not a purchase. But if your desk has the same slow cable drift mine did, a simple tray under the desk is the one thing worth its space — it gave the cables that belonged there a home, and made the ones that didn’t obvious. (The fuller story is in the desk piece.)
The Desk Test
Two minutes, one question: would I go and get it? You’ll know what’s earning space on your desk — and what you’re allowed to let go.
Tools I actually use, not tools I review for clicks.
Tested workflows, honest takes, and the ones I dropped after week two.
What I’m reading and what made me stop and re-read a page.
No full summaries. Just the moments that shifted something.
Small changes that made me want to sit down and work.
Real items, real prices, still using after months.
